Copier Toner

Copier Toner

A color copier functions much like your printer that scans a document. The copier scans the original document, and transfers the data via laser to a charged drum.

Color Toner sticks to the areas of the drum before being transferred to paper. Then, the heat transforms the toner on the page and fuses a permanent image.

The advantage of a high priced color copier is that it will apply all four colors in a single pass. The lower priced copiers make multiple passes to get the same image.

Should you order all the bells and whistles when looking at editing features? No, especially if you are using the copier for network printing with multiple users. The reason is that it is too complicated to master.

You probably will be far better off asking a sales representative to demonstrate all the editing features for you. You could then pick and choose which ones will benefit your particular situation.

In addition, you must consider those items that will need to be reordered. These items include but are not limited to:

Copier Paper- and consider what you are buying here carefully. The paper you use for color printing will far exceed that of normal black and white printing. For color, what is recommended is a heavier and almost glossy white paper.
Toner - tends to be more involved with a color copier than with a black and white copier.

The reason is that you need to use four basic toner colors: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, each contained in a separate cartridge.

The toner needs to be mixed with developer to be magnetically attached to the copier drum and then fused on to paper. Copiers require a separate developer for each toner color it uses. Developer usually has a yield that is twice that of the toner.

If your copies seem to be getting lighter, it is time to change the developer. If you run out of toner, you will see haphazard color on the page.
